Meizu Pro 5 reportedly delayed until November

Meizu Pro 5 reportedly delayed until November
Last month, when Meizu announced the Pro 5, its most expensive smartphone to date, the company said that the handset would be available starting October 12. However, it looks like Meizu has been forced to delay the launch of the new phone.

According to Chinese website Mobile-dad, a typhoon that recently hit southern China caused floods that affected one of Meizu's production facilities. In consequence, the Pro 5 is now expected to be released sometime in November. More exactly, that's when the handset should be available in China - it's not clear if it's going to be launched anywhere else sometime soon.

Running Android Lollipop customized with Meizu's Flyme 5 interface, the Meizu Pro 5 is a pretty large metal-made smartphone that sports a 5.7-inch display with 1080 x 1920 pixels. The device also features LTE connectivity, Hi-Fi sound, a 5 MP front-facing camera, a 21 MP rear camera, and - interestingly - an octa-core Samsung Exynos 7420 processor (the same that's powering the Galaxy S6 family and the Galaxy Note5).

The Meizu Pro 5 will be sold in two variants: one with 3 GB of RAM and 32 GB of storage space (costing around $439), and one with 4 GB of RAM and 64 GB of storage space (priced at around $486). Any takers?
